Pipedrive vs HubSpot in 2026: which CRM fits a small sales team?

Pipedrive and HubSpot are two of the CRMs small sales teams shortlist most often. Both are easy to start with, both work in a browser and on a phone, and both can stop leads from getting lost in inboxes and WhatsApp chats. They are built on different ideas, though. Pipedrive is a focused sales pipeline tool. HubSpot is a wider platform where sales, marketing and service share one database.

This guide compares them for a team of roughly 2 to 15 salespeople in 2026. Prices are the published list prices we could verify in October 2026, in US dollars, with euros where HubSpot now sells in euros. Both vendors show different prices by country and change offers often, so check the price in your own account before you buy, and add VAT or sales tax.

The short answer

  • Choose Pipedrive if your team mainly needs a clear deal pipeline, email sync, reminders and simple automations at a predictable price per seat, and marketing is handled somewhere else.
  • Choose HubSpot if you want sales and marketing (forms, email campaigns, ads tracking, landing pages) in one system, or if you want a free plan to start, and you can budget for Professional when you need automation.

Pricing in 2026

Pipedrive

Pipedrive now sells four plans, priced per seat. In US dollars, as listed in October 2026:

  • Lite: $14 per seat per month billed yearly, $24 billed monthly. Pipeline, leads, calendar and reports. No workflow automations.
  • Growth: $39 yearly, $49 monthly. Adds full email sync with tracking, automations, nurturing sequences, a meeting scheduler and WhatsApp.
  • Premium: $59 yearly, $79 monthly. Adds lead routing and scoring, data enrichment, contracts with e-signatures and LeadBooster (chatbot, web forms and prospecting tools).
  • Ultimate: $79 yearly, $99 monthly. Higher usage limits, stronger security controls and a sandbox account.

Add-ons such as Campaigns (email marketing), Projects, Smart Docs on lower plans and Web Visitors are billed separately. Pipedrive raised and reorganised its plans during 2025 and 2026, so older articles quoting $19 or $34 are out of date.

HubSpot: two pricing models

HubSpot now sells in two different ways, depending on where you sign up.

Per-hub pricing still applies to new customers in the US and to all existing customers. You buy Sales Hub (and other hubs if you want them) at a tier. Sales Hub Starter is $20 per seat list price, often promoted lower on annual billing. Sales Hub Professional is $90 per seat per month on annual billing or $100 monthly, with a one-time onboarding fee of $1,500. Enterprise is $150 per seat with a $3,500 onboarding fee.

Seats and credits started for new customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa in October 2026. Partner reports date it to 1 October; HubSpot's own wording says October 2026. Instead of separate hubs, you choose one edition for the whole account and pay per seat in euros: Starter from EUR 20 list, Professional EUR 90 per seat on annual billing or EUR 100 monthly, Enterprise EUR 175. Workflow actions, marketing emails and AI agents then draw on a monthly allowance of HubSpot Credits: 5,000 on Starter, 10,000 on Professional and 15,000 on Enterprise. Unused credits do not roll over, and extra usage is billed. You cannot mix editions, so one Enterprise seat moves every customer-facing seat to Enterprise. HubSpot has not published the full country list, so confirm which model you are offered at signup.

What five salespeople actually pay

Setup (5 users, billed yearly)Monthly costFirst-year cost
Pipedrive Lite$70$840
Pipedrive Growth$195$2,340
Pipedrive Premium$295$3,540
HubSpot Sales Hub Starter (US list)$100$1,200
HubSpot Sales Hub Professional (US)$450$6,900 including the $1,500 onboarding fee

These are list prices before tax and before any discount, add-ons, WhatsApp message fees or extra HubSpot credits. The gap that matters is between Pipedrive Growth and HubSpot Professional, because that is where both tools give you real sales automation.

Ease of use

Pipedrive is about as simple as a CRM gets. You open it and see your pipeline as columns, with deals as cards you drag from stage to stage. Every deal nudges you to schedule the next activity, which is the habit that closes deals. Most teams are working in it within a day.

HubSpot is also easy, especially the free and Starter tools, and HubSpot Academy offers free training. Because it does much more, there are more menus, objects and settings to understand. The sales workspace is clean, but admins have more to configure.

Sales features

Pipelines and deals. Both handle multiple pipelines, custom stages, products on deals and forecasting. Pipedrive's pipeline view is its strongest feature. HubSpot's deal records connect to everything marketing knows about the contact: pages viewed, forms filled and emails opened.

Automation. Pipedrive Growth gives workflow automations and nurturing sequences at a modest price per seat. In HubSpot, sequences and most sales workflows sit in Professional. If automation is the main reason you are buying a CRM, Pipedrive reaches it far more cheaply.

Email and calling. Both sync with Gmail and Outlook, track opens and offer meeting links. Both have built-in calling options or integrations with calling tools.

AI. Both now include AI features such as email drafting, summaries and report help. HubSpot's Breeze AI agents use HubSpot Credits, which matters in the new EMEA model. Treat AI as a bonus, not the reason to choose either tool.

WhatsApp and other channels

If many of your customers message you on WhatsApp, check this carefully.

  • Pipedrive includes a WhatsApp integration from Growth, through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. Conversations link to the contact and deal. Pipedrive still labels it beta, only messages from after you connect are synced, and templates are text only.
  • HubSpot connects WhatsApp to its shared inbox, but you need Marketing Hub or Service Hub on Professional or Enterprise. HubSpot also sets limits on template messages per month, so check them against your volume.

With either tool, Meta charges per message for templates, and free-text replies are only allowed within 24 hours of the customer's last message. Our guide on the WhatsApp Business app vs the API explains what you need.

Marketing: the real difference

This is where the choice is usually made. HubSpot started as a marketing platform. Forms, landing pages, email campaigns, ad tracking and attribution all sit in the same database as your deals, so you can see which campaign produced which sale. Pipedrive offers a Campaigns add-on for email newsletters and LeadBooster for forms and chat, but most Pipedrive users run marketing in separate tools and connect them with Zapier, Make or native integrations.

If one person handles sales and someone else handles marketing in other tools, Pipedrive is fine. If you want one view from first click to closed deal, HubSpot is stronger.

Checklist before you sign

  • Price both tools for your team size in 12 months, not today.
  • For HubSpot, confirm which pricing model you get, the onboarding fee and the credit allowance.
  • For Pipedrive, list the add-ons you need (Campaigns, LeadBooster, Smart Docs) and add them up.
  • Run a 14 day test with real leads, not demo data.
  • Check that every lead source (website forms, WhatsApp, Meta lead ads, portals) can create a record automatically.
  • Decide who owns the CRM and the weekly pipeline review.

Whichever you pick, the tool matters less than how fast your team replies. Our guide to speed to lead covers the follow-up rhythm that makes either CRM pay for itself.

If you are in the UAE

New HubSpot customers signing up from the UAE are likely to be offered the EMEA seats-and-credits model, so ask for the edition, seat price and onboarding fee in writing. At 3.6725 AED to the dollar, Pipedrive Growth is about AED 143 per seat billed yearly and HubSpot Sales Hub Professional about AED 331 to 367 per seat, before 5% VAT.

Frequently asked questions

Is Pipedrive cheaper than HubSpot?

For sales automation, usually yes. Pipedrive Growth costs $39 per seat per month billed yearly and includes automations and sequences. In HubSpot, sequences and most sales workflows need Professional at $90 per seat billed yearly, plus a one-time onboarding fee. HubSpot is cheaper only if the free tools or Starter are enough for you.

Does Pipedrive have a free plan?

No. Pipedrive offers a 14 day free trial on its plans. HubSpot has free tools for up to 2 users, which is why many very small teams start there.

Which is easier to learn, Pipedrive or HubSpot?

Pipedrive is slightly easier because it does less: the pipeline is the whole product. HubSpot is also beginner friendly, but it has more features and settings, so admins need more time.

What changed in HubSpot pricing in October 2026?

New customers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa moved to a seats-and-credits model: one edition for the whole account, priced per seat in euros, with a monthly allowance of HubSpot Credits for things like workflow actions, marketing emails and AI agents. US customers and existing customers stay on per-hub pricing for now.

Can I connect WhatsApp to Pipedrive or HubSpot?

Yes. Pipedrive includes WhatsApp from the Growth plan, still labelled beta. HubSpot connects WhatsApp to its inbox with Marketing Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise. Both use Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, and Meta charges per template message.

Can I switch from Pipedrive to HubSpot later?

Yes. Both let you export contacts, organisations and deals to CSV, and HubSpot imports CSV files and offers data sync integrations with other CRMs. Email history and automations usually need to be rebuilt, so plan a short migration project.
